Mahindra has launched updated KUV100 in Indian market on October 10, 2017. The KUV100 was launched in January 2016 as Mahindra’s entry-level model for the booming compact-SUV segment. However, it failed to make its mark in the market. Now Mahindra is back this year with all new KUV100 NXT.
Mahindra KUV100 facelift exteriors
It has been a standard that while launching a facelift you have to re-design front and rear bumpers hence on the exterior the bumpers are refreshed that give the KUV a fresh new muscular and more SUV-like looks.
The length of KUV has also been increased slightly and is now at 3,700mm. Mahindra offers skid plate on the front and the rear to make it look more appealing. It has also been equipped with a new front grille which give it a little sportier look. Other changes that can be seen across the car are the refreshed cladding and wheel arches which have undergone a minor design change. The headlamps and tail-lamps as standard add to the SUV looks of the car and now gets a clear lens design.
The new KUV100 also feature “sharper and more aggressive” creases and lines to make the vehicle look more SUV-like. It is also equipped with roof rails and a spoiler. However, the top end variants of KUV also comprises of new 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

Now the new KUV is priced between Rs. 4.47 lakh for the base model and goes upto to Rs. 7.48 lakh for Top Spec. model.

2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT interiors
Now KUV100 also gets minor changes on interiors too. Mahindra will now sell the KUV100 as a six-seater only. However, the five-seater version may be available on order basis.
Some other cosmetic segmentation done by Mahindra is that the lower-spec trims will be having grey interiors while the top-spec K8 varient gets an all-black interiors with piano black touches on dash.
Features of 2017 Mahindra KUV100 facelift
Well the new KUV100 is equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the top spec trim. In Addition the KUV100 also comes with remote lock/unlock for the tailgate, power-folding wing mirrors, rear parking sensors, a new multi-info display, drive modes and fuel economy.
Engine performance and Mileage
The new KUV100 gets the same 1.2-litre petrol which turns out 82bhp and 1.2-litre diesel engine with 76hp. It is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox that is mounted on the dashboard as the outgoing model. The engines have now been tuned to deliver better fuel economy.
Mahindra has reduced engine noise and vibrations to a large extent. The suspension now gets a longer travel rate at 150mm for the front and 200mm for the rear to improve the ride quality. On the safety front, the KUV100 NXT gets dual front airbags, corner braking control and ABS and EBD.

The KUV100 NXT has strong rivals, which includes the Maruti Ignis and cross-hatchbacks like the Etios Cross, Honda’s WR-V and the Hyundai i20 Active and Tata Nexon which are doing well in the market right now. Let’s hope that KUV attracts more buyers this time with its updates. But it has improved a lot in almost every department. So if you are in a market for a compact hatchback like rugged SUV with a tall body structure then KUV might be your choice.
