Skoda Kodiaq New 7 seater SUV Milage, Price & Specs

With the introduction of Octavia RS the Skoda is bringing competitive cars to the Indian car market. Now they are introducing a full size SUV which will be good in performance as well as luxury. Skoda will be launching the car this Diwali season. This car will be joining the segment which is already Hot with the cars like Fortuner and Endevour. Will Kodiaq be able to make a place for itself, well nothing can be said right away, so let’s get through the specs of the car real quick.

Skoda Kodiaq Design & Exteriors

The Skoda Kodiaq is a handsome looking, although it does not look as big as some of its rivals, when seen from the front. But don’t get it wrong, it is still a large SUV with loads of space on the inside. The front has typical Skoda grill with the adaptive headlights system with LED DRL’S.

skoda kodiaqThe headlight provide a wider lightning field for city driving and longer reach motorways. When oncoming traffic is detected it automatically adjust to prevent dazzling others. Coming on the side we have long wheelbase with 18 Inches alloy wheels. On the top we have silver roof rails. The rear got a nice designed bumper and Skoda signature C Shaped crystalline style LED tail lights which look really great. On the whole it’s a smart looking vehicle.

Kodiaq Features & Interiors

On the inside we have plush dual tone interior. There are standard features like 8 inch infotainment system which has a lots of functions and comes equipped with a navigation, android auto, and apple car play.

The feature list goes on with automatic wipers and headlamps , automatic climate control , a 12 speaker canton sound system ,  10 coloured ambient lightning , powered driver and passenger seat with memory function  , panoramic sunroof ,  a powered tailgate , hands free parking assist , armrest which is very nicely designed .

skoda kodiaqWe were surprised to see some feature like a small poly bag on the driver side which can be used as dustbin and umbrella in doors. The boot is quite spacious with 630 litres and when the third row is engaged than it’s quite a compromise with 270 litres. Overall it’s a really spacious cabin with practicality and the rear passengers have enough legroom to stretch their leg.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE

Kodiaq comes equipped with a 2 litre 1968 cc, 4 cylinder turbo diesel that gives 150bhp at 340nm of torque .The gearbox is 7 Speed dual clutch which works well with the engine it has an option of four wheel drive.

skoda kodiaqThe cars has different modes like sports, normal, eco and individual which works on the throttle response. The engine and gearbox works really well together and you barely felt the shifts. In the city the car is really easy to amble around but as you go on the highway it misses out on that top end punch. The car gets to triple digits speed quite comfortably and is really stable at high speed.

skoda kodiaqThe ride quality is really good and you always feel comfortable behind the wheels   . Around the corners the cars is surprisingly stable with very less amount of body roll, the lower height shows its advantage here. The steering gives a lot of feedback and sense of confidence to the driver. Overall the car is a decent package.

VERDICT

So how is the KODIAQ is for Indian customers, should you buy it or not. Well in this segment we already have ladder on frame cars like Endeavour and Fortuner which are tough and rugged and with a healthy price tag. Kodiaq on the other hand is a bit expensive than its competitors but then it has more features and luxary on its favour. Well if you want a SUV which tough and of good build quality and yet luxurious and easy to drive, than you should surely go for the Kodiaq.
