TVS launched TVS Apache RR 310 recently on 35th anniversary of TVS Motors. We are in an economy where the budget performance bikes are well to do and sell in good numbers. And it has been a decade since The TVS Apache RTR series and Bajaj Pulsar range has dominated this segment of affordable performance motorcycles.
But now this market is changing with the entry of track focused machines like KTM RC series, Yamaha r15& r3 and Bajaj RS200 & Dominar 400 and new entry of foreign manufactures like Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli 302 R that has added premium-ness to the segment. TVS has finally made the move in collaboration with BMW to rollout a new and aggressively hot track focused machine, the TVS Apache RR 310.
TVS and BMW, in technical collaboration powered this machine using same platform as the G310R but the design and development have been done on individual levels as per the demand of the market and customer requirements.
TVS Apache RR 310 Design & Exteriors
TVS as retained most of the bits from its concept version Akula 310 showcased at auto expo 2016. It gets tall windscreen that not only enhances the look of the sporty faired motorcycle but also provides perfect balance of aerodynamics and riding ergonomics.
The body panels of the production model are made of lightweight aluminium to reduce manufacturing costs instead of carbon fibre panels of the concept, despite that the performance is quite good.

The fully-faired TVS Apache RTR 310 supersport motorcycle is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 313 cc liquid cooled engine developed in association with the BMW.
The engine in RR 310 is the same as found in the BMW G310R which will be the entry-level BMW bike launched in India. The Apache RR 310 churns out a power output of 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is claimed to go from zero to 60 kmph in just 2.3 seconds.

Now the feature of new TVS Apache RR 310 comprises of Dual channel ABS, horizontal digital instrument console, USD forks, radial type calipers, cast-alloy swing arm that’s found in the concept are carried over straight to the production model.
The other features are sharp LED tail lamps, twin projector headlamps, tall windscreen, stiff space frame chassis, mono-shock rear suspension, petal disk brakes at front & rear, split grab rails, and adjustable clip-ons.
